Carolyn Abney has been with the Imagine Family since the start of the 2009-2010 school year. She has been fine tuning the minds of children for over 15 years. She studied Early Childhood Education at Prince George’s Community college and looks to continue her academic endeavors at the University of Maryland.
Shanna Adamson is a Virginia native who has been living in MARYLAND for the past two and a half years. She has worked in the field of special education since 1999 starting with adults and then working with children in a public school setting as a teacher assistant. In 2004, Ms. Adamson began teaching in special education. In 2007 she moved to Maryland and taught for two years with Prince George’s County Public Schools. Ms. Adamson now works at Imagine Southeast in the Special Education Department.
Soheila Ahmad is the First Grade Boy’s teacher. She graduated from SUNY Oswego in New York State receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Theatre. She went to graduate school at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts for Elementary Education. In 2008-2009 she taught in a 6th grade classroom. This is her first year teaching and she is having a fabulous and fun time educating the boys!
Claudia Alexander is from Washington, DC. She has been with Imagine Southeast Public Charter School for two years and is currently employed as an Instructional Assistant. She enjoys working with children of all ages.
Adunni Aliu has been with Imagine Southeast since September of 2009 as the Administrative Assistant. She has always had an enthusiasm for children as well as having an impact on the lives of others. Passion for one’s work is what she believes is standard for seeking a fulfilling career and she believes that this is demonstrated in her position at Imagine Southeast. Ms. Aliu attended Hampton University and has three years of experience dealing with children.
Jasmine Allen is a native Washingtonian. She has studied in the fields of Special and Elementary Education at the University of the District of Columbia and The Catholic University of America, respectively. She has worked as an Instructional Assistant for Imagine Southeast since its opening in 2008, and has been educating the minds of children for over three years. Ms. Allen enjoys her role as a first year Girl Scout Troop Leader and Academic Achievement Task Force Chairperson.
Kim Crowther has been with Imagine Southeast for the past two years as the Special Education Resource/Inclusion Teacher. She loves working with the population because she enjoys helping children with disabilities work towards reaching their full potential. Ms. Crowther states that she loves this environment because no two days are alike—it is always an adventure.
Ola Deen is the Nurse at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School. She enjoys working with children very much. She has a 21-year-old daughter who is currently a senior at Coppin State University.
Katrea Denson is a 2009 graduate from Bowie State University. She has been with Imagine Southeast PCS since its opening in 2008. Currently, she works in a Pre-Kindergarten 4 classroom and is excited about where the school is going in the upcoming years!
Deanna Dykes comes to us from the great state of Connecticut. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education and Theatre from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. She is a Pre-Kindergarten 4 Lead Teacher and the Academy Leader for our Early Childhood Program. Ms. Dykes has been teaching for eight years in the DC/Maryland area and has been with ISE since it opened in 2008. She is passionate about instilling the love of learning in all children!
Antoinette Ferrell received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Trinity University. She is passionate about educating children in urban communities. She is currently pursuing a counseling degree at Argosy University where she can extend her service to help urban youth outside the classroom. Ms. Ferrell has been in the education field for over five years as a lead teacher, paraprofessional, tutor and an extended day instructor.
Markia Jackson teaches the wonderful Third Grade Girls at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School. She is a native Washingtonian and a product of the Washington, DC public school and charter system. Ms. Jackson is excited to give back to her community and to help in the development of our future female leaders.
Shanee T. Johnson is a pre-kindergarten 3 teacher. She has been with the Imagine Southeast Public Charter School since its opening in August 2008!
Makia Jones has been teaching for seven and a half years. This is her second year teaching in an all girl classroom. She loves to motivate young girls to be leaders, and to explore and create adventures through reading. Ms. Jones enjoys reading in her spare time.
Brittany Lambert has a true passion and desire to make a difference in the lives of children. After years of working as a mentor to dozens of children, she has found that teaching has brought her the most joy. She currently works as the Instructional Assistant in the Second Grade Boys Class, while she continues to pursue her degree in Secondary Education. "I love knowing that my dedication to the students each day will make future educators and great leaders of tomorrow."
Michelle Lee is the Food Service Manager at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School. Her position is to ensure that the students receive healthy, balanced and nourishing meals and she strives to accomplish this everyday with diligence. Ms. Lee received her Food Servicing License in the United States Navy. She has been happily working with children for ten years. Ms. Lee enjoys working with both the staff and the students at Imagine Southeast.
Talaya Lee is a passionate Pre-Kindergarten 3 teacher and the head of our Fundraising Programs. She is a mother of three beautiful children. She possesses over 15 years of experience in early childhood education. Ms. Lee has a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and will be working on obtaining her Master’s soon. She is a current member of the Outstanding Organization Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Jermaine Mathis was born and currently lives in Washington, DC. He graduated from H.D. Woodson Senior High School in 2007 and is currently studying at Prince George’s Community College in pursuit of a degree in Early Childhood Education. Mr. Mathis plans to own his own daycare in the future.
Maximilienne Mbinack is a graduate of Howard University. She was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, but her heritage stems from Cameroon, West Africa. She is enjoying Imagine Southeast for all it has to offer and hopes to continue to see the school grow.
Jamahr McDaniel is the Assistant Principal of Imagine Southeast Public Charter School. He is a graduate of Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Mr. McDaniel is very passionate about educating youth, being a positive role model and leader.
Pamela Meacham has had the pleasure and privilege of being one of the teachers in our awesome Pre-Kindergarten team. She possesses a degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working with young children for over 15 years. She is extremely humbled and excited about working here at ISE. She truly believes in assisting parents in building a strong, solid foundation in our children that will follow them their entire life.
Joy Moreland has been at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School for one year and teaches Pre-Kindergarten3. She has three years of teaching experience and loves to makes learning fun! She loves working, not only with students but with parents and colleges. She believes that team work makes the dream work!
Paula Nesmith is a graduate of Howard University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Mrs. Nesmith has seven years of experience as an Elementary School teacher and has a particular interest and passion in teaching students in Reading. She is a highly qualified teacher and has been recognized for her dedication to excellence in teaching. Currently, Mrs. Nesmith serves as the Reading Specialist at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School.
Lakiesha Oliver is an Office Assistant. She has worked at Imagine Southeast since February 2009.
Tina Osborne has been teaching for five years. She has a Master’s in Education and loves learning. Ms. Osborne gets her greatest joy from seeing her students master new concepts.
Felix Osuchukwu attended the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC. In 2001, he founded the visual arts department at Cesar Chavez Public Charter High School for Public Policy, in Washington, DC. He served as the department chair and visual arts instructor for over eight years. Felix has provided visual arts instruction and workshops to various organizations in Washington, DC for over 15 years; including Martha’s Table and the YMCA through has arts education program, I Live to Create Studios, Inc. an arts education and portfolio development program in which he is the founder.
Kadeen Oxford is an educator who is passionate about her work. She is an experienced Pre-Kindergarten teacher certified in the state of Florida. Ms. Oxford joined the Southeast staff last year and is the Pre-Kindergarten 4 lead teacher. She is excited to be a part of a wonderful team!
Ginene Pointer is the First Grade Girl’s teacher. She has been teaching for nine years and enjoys every minute of it! The girls make her laugh and they always keep a smile on her face!
Jamaal Ramsey was educated in the DC Public School System. Mr. Ramsey enjoys playing basketball and loves children. He has an Associate’s degree in Electrical work. He is currently obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
Melodi Sampson is the school’s Enrollment Specialist. She hails from Columbia, Missouri and recently graduated from American University. Ms. Sampson loves the Imagine Southeast family and is pleased to be a part of such a strong team.
Jordan Scott is the Aftercare Coordinator at Imagine Southeast. He was born in Washington, DC and currently resides in Maryland. Mr. Scott is a graduate of Colgate University. He continues his awesomeness at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School.
Louise Shorts comes to Imagine Southeast with over 15 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. She believes that a child is never too young to start learning, and uses her knowledge and creativity to make every child's learning experience a life impacting memory. It is her pleasure to work at Imagine Southeast with a unique and skilled team of educators who have the same goal in mind: to see every child achieve academic success.
Malcolm Smith has been with Imagine Southeast Public Charter since September 2009. He enjoys being around children of all ages. He has four beautiful children who attend the school. Working in this family environment has taught Mr. Smith patience and his divine appreciation for life has increased. He feels privileged to be a part of a hard working team that has great values.
Darryl Tucker has been with Imagine Southeast Public Charter School as the Food and Nutrition Service Assistant since its opening. Mr. Tucker is a wonderful and dedicated father who brings great enthusiasm to the Imagine Southeast family.
